Associate Pastor Job Description
Emmaus Church is seeking a pastoral staff member to fill an open Associate Pastor position. The position is a compensated, full-time position. As an Associate Pastor we anticipate and expect this man to shepherd God’s people prayerfully, according to The Word, and in concert with the Pastor and Elders. We desire to find the right fit for our ministry philosophy and church family and are willing to tailor weekly responsibilities to the right man’s giftings and skill.
We desire for the associate pastor to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry. Some of the areas of greatest need in our body are working with youth, college age, and young families, filling the pulpit once a month to once every six weeks or so, counseling, visitation, and general shepherding. We are prayerfully pursuing a man who is trained and experienced in pastoral ministry who can hit the ground running.
Emmaus is an independent Bible church with a Mennonite heritage. It was founded in 1876 by eight Mennonite families who journeyed to America to find religious freedom. With firm convictions on the authority of Scripture, these religious pioneers left all behind for an insecure beginning in an unknown land. As the Mennonite conference departed from their conservative heritage, Emmaus left the conference and continues to closely follow the Bible.
