Accounts Receivable(Donor Services Specialist)

Are you looking for the flexibility of a part-time position with the opportunity to use your gifts to serve in a Christian ministry? Cadence International is an evangelical mission organization dedicated to reaching military communities with the good news of Jesus Christ. We are looking for a Donor Services Specialist who is detail oriented and has a heart to support our missionaries, staff, and donors with a high level of competency and care.

Reports to: Director of Accounting                                 

Hours:  20-25 hours per week

Location: Cadence Headquarters, Englewood, CO

Compensation: $18.50 per hour plus vacation, sick, and holiday pay

Purpose:

Cadence International is an evangelical mission organization dedicated to reaching military communities with the good news of Jesus Christ. The Donor Services Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate processing of donations as well as performing a variety of reporting and donor support activities efficiently, while promoting and maintaining a supportive environment. The Donor Services Team members share the responsibilities noted in this job description, one person is not solely responsible for the entirety of these tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process contributions made by check or cash.
    • Review checks for accuracy.
    • Deposit checks via remote deposit capture with occasional cash deposits made at a local branch.
    • Post contributions to the appropriate donor and the appropriate missionary/project account in the donor database.
    • Scan checks and any donation documentation to be retained electronically.
  • Process contributions made by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or credit card.
    • Manage donor gift information in the donor database and online giving site.
    • Review gifts for accuracy.
    • Import EFT and credit card donations into the donor database.
    • Post contributions to the appropriate donor and the appropriate missionary/project account in the donor database.
  • Process contributions made by automatic bank deposit via ACH.
    • Review bank transmittals and online bank transactions.
    • Post contributions to the appropriate donor and the appropriate missionary/project account in the donor database.
  • Maintain any electronic or paper files regarding donor contributions.
  • Maintain contact information and donation data in the donor database.
  • Generate and distribute charitable contribution receipts. Responsible for donor receipts from production to mailing.
  • Prepare schedules for outside auditors, as needed.
  • Generate donation-related reports for Cadence staff, missionaries, and donors. To include assisting with printing and mailing of missionary newsletters and other donor related communications.
  • Manage all military contracts and payments for services and maintain appropriate spreadsheets.
  • Track all special project income and maintain spreadsheet.
  • Coordinate volunteer schedules and provide support, as needed.
  • Provide general information and support to Cadence staff, missionaries, and donors.
  • Provide headquarters administrative support as needed, carrying out cross-functional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and willing to learn any necessary additional programs.
  • One year of previous data entry or accounts receivable experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience with cash receipt processing and bank deposits is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a nonprofit organization, specifically a mission organization, is a plus.
  • An understanding of the donation function in a nonprofit/mission organization is preferred.
  • Born again, mature Christian with an affinity for the mission and work of Cadence International.
  • Because of the distinctly Christian emphasis of Cadence’s mission work, must sign and comply with Cadence International’s Code of Christian Conduct.
  • Must be willing to join departmental staff in periodic prayer times for the needs of the mission and to attend the weekly headquarters chapel held during work hours.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including a positive attitude, willingness to help resolve issues, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be self-motivated, with high initiative and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strengths in administration, multi-tasking, and organizational skills with superior attention to detail.
  • Ability to graciously re-prioritize workload as demands change throughout the day, and flexibility to meet demands of a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to exercise considerable discretion in the handling of confidential or sensitive matters.
