Castle Oaks Covenant Church is seeking an Interim Worship & Media Director to provide spiritual, creative, and technical leadership for our worship, production, and digital media ministries. This individual will play a vital role in helping create meaningful worship experiences that lead people to encounter Jesus. The ideal candidate will bring both pastoral sensitivity and practical leadership in worship, production, and digital media.
The Interim Worship & Media Director will oversee Sunday worship services, manage and schedule band and tech volunteers, oversee and maintain systems and content that support both in-person and online ministry. This role provides leadership for worship gatherings, oversight of production systems, and a significant weekly focus on creating and distributing digital media that extends the church’s ministry beyond Sunday mornings.
We are looking for a humble, servant-hearted leader who is passionate about helping people connect with God through worship, equipping others to serve effectively, and using technology and media to extend the church’s impact.
Responsibilities
Worship
- Plan and lead Sunday worship services in collaboration with the Lead Pastor.
- Cultivate worship gatherings that are Christ-centered, engaging, and aligned with the church’s mission and values.
- Lead worship vocally and instrumentally.
- Recruit, equip, schedule and multiply worship team volunteers.
- Coordinate weekly rehearsals and Sunday service details.
- Identify and develop emerging worship leaders, musicians, and vocalists.
- Provide pastoral care and encouragement for worship volunteers.
- Foster a culture of spiritual maturity, musical excellence, and healthy teamwork within the worship ministry.
Production & Media
- Oversee audio, visual, lighting, presentation, and livestream ministries.
- Recruit, train, and schedule media production volunteers.
- Maintain production equipment, technology systems, and ministry workflows.
- Manage worship planning and presentation software.
- Ensure compliance with CCLI and all media licensing requirements.
- Steward ministry resources, equipment, and production budget with wisdom and accountability.
- Assist with planning and execution of special services, ministry events, and seasonal celebrations.
Digital Content
- Edit and publish weekly sermon audio and video content.
- Create sermon clips and ministry highlights for social media engagement.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality digital presence across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and our website, extending the ministry of the church beyond Sunday mornings through engaging content and storytelling. Ensuring sermon and worship archive content is organized and accessible online.
- Support church communications through digital storytelling and creative media development.

Staff & Leadership
- Participate in staff meetings, ministry planning, and church-wide initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with pastors and ministry leaders to support the mission of the church.
- Provide spiritual encouragement, mentorship, and leadership to volunteers.
- Support and champion the mission, vision, and values of Castle Oaks Covenant Church.
Qualifications
Required
- A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a life that reflects Christian character.
- Alignment with the mission, values, and beliefs of Castle Oaks Covenant Church.
- Experience leading worship in a local church setting.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency as a vocalist and instrumentalist (guitar or piano preferred).
- Experience recruiting, leading, and developing volunteers.
- Working knowledge or willingness to learn church production systems, livestreaming, and worship technology.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead both creatively and administratively in a collaborative team environment.
- Working knowledge of church production systems, livestreaming, and worship technology.
Preferred
- Formal or informal training in worship ministry, music, media production, theology, or a related field.
- Experience with Planning Center, ProPresenter, Lightkey, Multitracks Playback, Resi Live Streaming, digital audio consoles, and Final Cut Pro.
- Previous church staff experience.
- Experience creating digital content and managing social media platforms for ministry purposes.
Schedule & Scope
- Approximately 20 hours per week
- One Sunday service (potential to expand to two services in the future)
- Required weekly staff meeting Tuesdays (90 mins)
- Required once a month Sunday staff meetings (90 mins following worship service)
- Flexibility for occasional day, evening or weekend ministry events and production needs. Including but not limited to: weddings, funerals and memorials, etc.
- Significant weekly focus on worship preparation, production leadership, and digital media editing/posting
- Weekly band rehearsal with volunteer team
- Sunday worship set prep, media and systems prep for band and volunteers
- Participation in one full-day staff retreat annually and one half-day staff retreat bi-annually
- Seasonal increases during Christmas, Easter, and other major church events
- Assist and support other staff and ministry teams as needed
Compensation
$27,000 – $36,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated proficiency in worship leadership, production, and digital media.
This is a part-time interim position averaging 20 hours per week. The position includes the potential to apply for a permanent role in the future as well as the possibility for hours to increase if additional services are added, ministries work expands, or increased scope of responsibilities are added.
