Summary of Executive Pastor Role

Springs Community Church is seeking a faithful and spiritually mature leader who values, first and foremost, a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced through a daily devotion to Him. As a growing local church of approximately 1,000 people, Springs is seeking an Executive Pastor to serve as a key partner to the Lead Pastor in shepherding the staff, aligning ministry strategy, and ensuring the church’s vision is faithfully carried out through healthy leadership and sustainable systems. We are seeking someone with a pastoral heart and a strong organizational and strategic gifting, who can lead both people and systems. The Executive Pastor must be able to lead leaders, anticipate organizational needs, bring clarity to priorities, and help guide the church through growth with intentionality and humility. This role exists to help Springs Community Church love and live for Jesus, together.

IN-DETAIL BREAKDOWN

Staff Leadership & Culture

  • Serve as the direct supervisor for Directional Team members, providing leadership, coaching, and accountability
  • Establish and maintain a clear reporting framework to keep the Lead Pastor and elders informed of ministry health and activity
  • Set clear expectations, goals, and performance standards for staff and ministry leaders
  • Lead regular check-ins, feedback, and performance conversations
  • Cultivate and protect a healthy staff culture rooted in trust, humility, and fun

Operations Team Leadership

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the operations team until a dedicated Operations Director is hired (communications, facilities, office management, IT)
  • Set operational priorities and support team members in problem-solving and execution
  • Oversee cross-departmental coordination for services, events, and ministry programming
  • Proactively identify and address operational gaps created by growth or increased programming demands
  • Ensure operational readiness and follow-through across all ministries

Finance & Staff Care Oversight

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
  • Provide clear financial insight and analysis to support financial decision-making
  • Oversee monthly bookkeeping in partnership with outsourced vendors
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting, internal controls, and responsible stewardship
  • Oversee staff compensation, payroll, and benefits administration
  • Coordinate staff benefits directly, through external partners or internal team members

Vision Alignment & Strategic Leadership

  • Partner closely with the Lead Pastor to translate vision into clear, actionable priorities
  • Help discern, set, and evaluate annual ministry goals and strategic initiatives
  • Align staffing, budget, and programming decisions with church priorities
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner in navigating growth, change, and complexity
  • Ensure leadership decisions are communicated clearly and implemented consistently

Weekly Mandatory Staff Meetings

Attend staff meetings for discipleship, communication, and culture building

  • All-Staff Planning

  • Weekly One-on-One with Lead Pastor

Personal Development – 5 Hours/Week

Intentionally cultivate a growing relationship with Christ and pursue ongoing personal and spiritual formation

  • Daily time spent reading Scripture and other spiritual disciplines
  • Weekly reading of spiritual books

Other Annual Commitments

Ensure your presence at the following “all-hands-on-deck” yearly events

  • Easter Service, Christmas Eve Service
  • Team Retreats, Staff Retreats, Lay Leader Retreats, Church Leaders Conference
  • B-Well Form Completion and Yearly Membership Commitment to the Springs
