Job Description Summary
Through leadership, teaching, community service, and worship, the Director guides students PK- 12 in Christian faith and life, the Bible, and by example. This position supports the spiritual formation of children and youth, managing Kids Church on Sunday, supporting middle/high school-aged youth groups and activities, as well as supporting the high school Confirmation class along with the Senior Pastor. This person will ensure consistency, continuity, and relationships throughout our church as well as our community.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Sunday & Weekly Programming
- Plan and oversee children’s lessons for Sundays
- Teach regularly and oversee volunteers
- Ensure lessons are age-appropriate, biblical, and engaging for all ages
- Organize special events (e.g., Vacation Bible School, holiday programs, fellowship events)
- Volunteer Leadership
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers
- Create a consistent Sunday teaching rotation/schedule
- Provide encouragement, training, and resources
- Maintain healthy communication with team members and volunteers
- Child Safety & Environment
- Implement and uphold child protection policies and Emergency Action Plans
- Ensure proper check-in/check-out procedures
- Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming classrooms
- Conduct background checks as required
- Family Communication
- Communicate regularly with parents (email, text, newsletters, or church app)
- Provide resources to help families disciple their children at home
- Be available to answer questions and offer support
- Ministry Administration
- Manage curriculum implementation
- Manage ministry budget as approved by Council
- Track attendance and maintain basic records
- Coordinate use of classrooms and materials and supplies
- Church Integration
- Collaborate with Pastors, Church Council, and Trustees
- Support overall church mission and vision
- Help integrate children into broader church life
Qualifications and Requirements
- Preferred Education: Bachelor’s or graduate level degree in religious education, religious studies, youth ministry education or equivalent or have substantial experience with Christian education and/or youth programs and outreach
- Colorado Driver’s License; CPR & First Aid certification
- Employment contingent upon cleared background check
- Be a healthy and committed follower of Jesus, growing in spiritual disciplines
- Be in agreement with Faith Church beliefs, mission and vision
- Proficient knowledge of Scripture, theology, ministry leadership, and volunteer development
- A desire to humbly serve God and our youth
