ABOUT HOPE CITY COMMUNITY CHURCH

Hope City Community Church is a thriving, non-denominational congregation in El Paso, Texas, averaging 1,100 in weekend attendance…and growing so fast we recently launched a third worship service to keep pace. Driven by a clear, Bible-centered mission to see the lost found and the found set free, Hope City is a church marked by spiritual momentum, outreach energy, and a grand vision to reach 40,000 people in El Paso and beyond. This is not a maintenance-mode church; it’s a community alive with purpose, and the staff culture reflects it, built around character, skill, and a bias toward action.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Hope City is seeking a Student Ministry Director to shepherd a student ministry averaging 65–80 middle and high school students, leading it into its next season of growth and discipleship depth. The right person is both pastorally grounded and energetically engaging, a builder who loves students, develops leaders, and partners with parents.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching and preaching God’s Word to students in engaging, biblically grounded ways
  • Building authentic relationships with middle and high school students
  • Recruiting, training, and leading a volunteer team
  • Developing a clear discipleship pathway, from attending to belonging to fully following Jesus
  • Partnering with parents to support student spiritual formation at home
  • Collaborating with church staff to align student ministry with the overall church vision

The ideal candidate brings:

  • A spiritually mature and growing personal walk with Jesus
  • 3–5 years of student ministry experience in a local church
  • Strong relational skills and the ability to connect naturally with students and families
  • Proven ability to recruit and lead volunteers
  • A team-oriented, high-accountability approach to ministry
  • Alignment with Hope City’s beliefs, values, and mission philosophy
  • College degree preferred but not required

Compensation: $41,000–$55,000 based on education and experience, plus a $12,000 annual family medical insurance benefit, and a 5% retirement match (403b).

ABOUT EL PASO, TEXAS

El Paso is a warm, culturally rich city unlike anywhere else in the United States, a true melting pot shaped by Indigenous, Mexican, and American heritage. El Paso is uniquely connected to Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico…three cities, two states, and two countries interwoven economically, culturally, and relationally.. It consistently ranks as one of the safest large cities in America, with affordable housing (well below the national average), strong schools, friendly neighborhoods, and a tight-knit military community anchored by Fort Bliss. For those who love the outdoors, the Franklin Mountains rise dramatically from the city itself, and mountain escapes like Cloudcroft and Ruidoso are just a short drive away. For a ministry leader, El Paso offers something rare: a deeply diverse mission field, a family-friendly quality of life, and a community where calling and culture genuinely come together.
