POSITION SUMMARY
The Women’s Pastoral Care Pastor at Cherry Hills Community Church provides Christ-centered care, counseling, and spiritual guidance to women within the congregation and surrounding community. This role involves pastoral care and visitation, one-on-one counseling/discipleship and leadership support in recovery ministry offering support through prayer, presence, and biblical truth. She partners closely with the Women’s Ministry and pastoral staff to foster a nurturing environment where women are seen, supported, and encouraged in their faith journey.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide ongoing pastoral care and discipleship specifically for women, including spiritual mentorship, emotional support, and personal guidance through life stages and transitions.
- Provide shared leadership in re:generation, shepherding and spiritually supporting women through prayer, presence, and intentional engagement.
- Partner with the Women’s Ministry team to ensure aligned care strategies, program support, and pastoral presence at women-focused events or gatherings.
- Serve as the primary pastoral presence for women navigating sensitive issues related to abuse, trauma, family dynamics, or spiritual identity—offering confidential support and connection to resources.
- Design and implement care pathways or mentorship models tailored to women’s discipleship and spiritual formation.
- Lead and participate in prayer gatherings, retreats, or spiritual formation experiences, offering leadership and pastoral oversight.
- Provide direct pastoral care and short-term counseling to congregants, offering spiritual, emotional, and practical support during times of crisis, grief, or personal need.
- Offer regular visitation to those who are hospitalized, in care facility, or homebound, maintaining their connection to the church body through presence, prayer, and encouragement.
- Provide co-leadership and active involvement in the re:generation ministry, including teaching, volunteer development, administration, and participant care to foster a Christ-centered environment for healing and transformation.
- Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers for care and recovery ministry environments, cultivating a spiritually healthy, equipped, and mission-aligned leadership culture.
- Refer individuals to appropriate professional counseling or community resources when needs extend beyond pastoral care.
- Serve on-call for urgent pastoral needs, offering prayer, support, and presence during times of crisis or high emotional need.
- Coordinate with the Pastoral Care team for funerals, memorials, inurnment services and weddings; provide post-care follow-up for grieving families and support CHCC services as needed.
- Counsel and disciple individuals through one-on-one relationships or small groups, encouraging personal and spiritual growth.
- Facilitate care-focused groups, classes, or workshops that support healing, spiritual formation, or life transitions.
- Teach occasionally in various church settings, contributing to the church’s broader teaching and discipleship ministry.
- Support the development of virtual care systems, prayer teams, and digital tools that increase accessibility and follow-up.
- Demonstrate a consistent, prayerful presence that reflects the heart of Christ and builds trust across the congregation and staff.
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion in decision-making, problem-solving, and managing ministry initiatives in alignment with church values and strategic goals.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads and shepherds volunteers serving in pastoral care and recovery ministries, including re:generation leaders, care team volunteers, and ministry support leaders. Provides training, spiritual encouragement, and ministry oversight to ensure volunteers are equipped to serve effectively and aligned with CHCC pastoral care practices.
- No direct staff supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in biblical studies, ministry, counseling, or a related field required; seminary or theological training preferred.
- Chaplaincy certification or training a plus.
- Professional Counseling experience or pursuit of licensure.
- 3+ years of pastoral ministry experience, including teaching, discipleship, and pastoral care.
- Experience providing pastoral counseling, spiritual guidance, or chaplaincy care in a church, hospital, or ministry setting.
- Proven leadership within a recovery or care-focused ministry strongly preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build trust and relate well across a wide range of personalities and spiritual backgrounds.
- Demonstrated emotional and spiritual maturity; able to remain calm and compassionate in high-emotion or crisis situations.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in sensitive pastoral or personal matters.
- Comfortable speaking and praying publicly in a variety of settings.
- Collaborative team player with a servant-hearted approach and a willingness to step in where needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); able to utilize standard tools for documentation, communication, and task coordination.
- Demonstrate proficiency with common office technologies, including email, printers/copiers, shared drives, and organizational software platforms; able to troubleshoot basic issues and learn new tools quickly.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and working under pressure.
- Available for evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
