Associate Pastor of Youth Discipleship
ABOUT GLEN MEADOWS BAPTIST CHURCH
Glen Meadows Baptist Church is a multi-generational, gospel-centered church, of over 1,200, located in the heart of San Angelo, Texas. We’re a family of believers from all walks of life, united by our pursuit of Jesus and our desire to experience and share the new kind of life He offers. Everything we do is centered on helping people discover their God-given purpose and grow toward their full potential in Him. Over the past year, God has blessed our church with incredible growth, our average weekly attendance has increased by 250 people, and we’ve celebrated more than 100 baptisms in the past 12 months. It’s a season of momentum, joy, and transformation, and we believe He’s just getting started.
At Glen Meadows, our values shape everything we do:
- We Dig Deep…because Living Water is worth the work.
- We Make Room…because the Gospel creates space for everyone at the table.
- We Kneel Down…because you can’t wash feet while standing up.
- We Team Up…because Jesus calls us out of isolation into participation.
- We Have Fun…because Joy is the culture of Heaven.
We’re a loving, welcoming church family that places a high emphasis on prayer, specifically, Scripture-fed, Spirit-led, worship-based prayer, and on deep discipleship that forms mature, reproducing followers of Christ. Through ministries for kids, students, adults, and families, we’re building a pipeline of disciple-makers who impact our city, schools, and workplaces with the hope of the gospel.
We are currently launching a long-term vision called Project 145, inspired by Psalm 145:4: “One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.” By our 45th anniversary in 2032, we believe God is calling us to raise up 500 disciple-making leaders, equip 2,000 disciples, and spark 145,000 gospel conversations across the Concho Valley and beyond. To support this vision, we are building a new 90,000-square-foot facility…an exciting step that reflects the growth and energy of our church! Glen Meadows truly is a place where faith comes alive, families thrive, and lives are being transformed by God’s glory. If you’re passionate about gospel movement, discipleship, and serving a community hungry for hope, we’d love to get to know you.

ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are seeking a high-capacity, mission-driven Associate Pastor of Youth Discipleship to lead and build a dynamic, gospel-centered movement among middle and high school students and their families.
This is not a maintenance role.
This is a leadership opportunity for a pastor who sees youth ministry as disciple-making, leadership development, and Kingdom expansion—not event coordination.
We are looking for someone who can build systems, develop leaders, preach with conviction, shepherd with wisdom, and align youth ministry fully within the broader mission and discipleship strategy of the church.
THE OPPORTUNITY
You will serve alongside a unified, healthy staff team under the Pastor of Discipleship Ministries to advance a clear and intentional discipleship pathway for students. Your leadership will directly shape:
- A culture of evangelism and outreach among students
- Deep biblical literacy and theological formation
- Intentional parent partnership and equipping
- Leadership multiplication through adult volunteers
- Seamless integration of youth into the life of the church
We are looking for someone who understands that youth ministry is not a church within a church—but a vital part of the whole body.
This role offers the opportunity to build, refine, and lead a ministry that is both spiritually vibrant and strategically sound.
WHO THRIVES HERE
The right candidate will be:
- A Pastor First : You love students, but you are fundamentally called to shepherd people. You carry pastoral gravity, relational warmth, and spiritual authority.
- A Builder : You think in systems, pathways, and development pipelines. You don’t just plan events, you cultivate movements.
- A Developer of Leaders : You recruit, train, and empower volunteers intentionally. You believe multiplication is success.
- A Communicator of the Word : You can teach with clarity, theological depth, and cultural awareness. You are comfortable in youth environments and capable of speaking in broader church settings when needed.
- A Collaborative Team Leader : You thrive in a multi-staff environment, work cross-functionally, and value alignment over autonomy.
- A Spiritually Mature Disciple: Your leadership flows from a vibrant personal walk with Christ marked by prayer, integrity, and obedience.
WHAT YOU’LL LEAD
- Weekly youth gatherings and discipleship environments (125 students midweek and 65 on Sundays)
- One-on-few discipleship and leadership development with students
- Evangelistic initiatives (mission trips, D-Nows, outreach efforts)
- Parent equipping strategies
- Volunteer recruitment, coaching, and care (over 30 active volunteers)
- Clear communication across social, digital, and print platforms
- Administrative excellence through effective systems and follow-through
- You will oversee ministry rhythms, ensure alignment with church strategy, and steward resources with professionalism and accountability.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Proven experience leading in a multi-staff church context (Prefer 2 years of experience in a church over 500)
- Strong preaching and teaching ability
- Demonstrated success developing volunteer teams
- Organizational and administrative competence
- Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies or related field (advanced education valued)
- Theological alignment with the Baptist Faith & Message (2000)
- A life that reflects 1 Timothy 3 character qualifications
