Are you an Evangelical leader with a heart for ministry and a passion for equipping disciples and evangelizing the community? Canopy Church at the Lake of the Ozarks in Camdenton, Missouri, is looking for a Lead Pastor to shepherd the congregation, to teach with Biblical authority rooted in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 3:17), to grow together under God’s grace (2 Peter 3:18), and to reach out with Christ’s love and hope to the world around us (Matthew 28:19, 1 Thessalonians 2:8).
The Lead Pastor is responsible for shepherding the congregation, preaching the Word of God, through the Scriptures, leading the development of ministries, providing pastoral care, and overseeing administrative functions.
Canopy church is growing with a current average weekly church attendance around 220, many who are newer, younger families. With growth, Canopy has formed a committee to make plans for a new addition to our existing building. Canopy Church is a non-denominational church located in Camden County Missouri, at the crossroads of Highway 54 and Highway 5. Camdenton is situated right in the heart of the Lake of the Ozarks, and located within a few hours from Kansas City, Columbia, Springfield, and St. Louis, Missouri. Residents enjoy living in a small-town atmosphere, with the charm of country and lake living. The Camdenton R-III school district ranks in the top 30% of public-school districts in Missouri, placing it #163 out of 555 districts based on combined math and reading proficiency data for 2022-2023 school year.
The ideal candidate should have a Master of Divinity degree or equivalent theological education, along with several years of church leadership experience. They should demonstrate spiritual leadership through effective communication, adaptability, a strong desire to disciple others, and the ability to lead with the emphasis of the mission and vision of the church in sharing the Gospel message. The values and personal traits of our lead pastor should include a commitment to spiritual and personal growth that consist of spiritual disciplines of Bible study, prayer, accountability to spouse (if applicable) and a partner/team, intentional pursuit of moral and ethical purity, and placing a significant importance of one’s spouse and children (if applicable).
