Companion Job Description
Southeast Aurora family seeking a companion for their 27 year-old son who lives with an intellectual disability. He is a fun loving, happy young man who loves to be outside, hike, go to museums, and do just about anything in the community.
The position includes spending time in the community doing a variety of things- hiking, volunteering, working out, visiting museums-things to promote good health, growth and independent living skills. He is particularly interested in American history, transportation – such as trains and classic cars and enjoying nature. We are looking for a companion to spend time each week with our son (5-8hours), with the potential of adding some weekends and evenings. We can be flexible and work with your schedule.
The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys working out, being active, is creative, likes to experience the community and has an interest in being a positive influence in our son’s life.
Applicant must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and 2-3 reliable references.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
