POSITION SUMMARY
As a key member of Dare 2 Share’s Executive Team, the Vice President of Development (VPD) serves as the chief architect and driver of Dare 2 Share Ministries’ revenue growth strategy. This role is responsible not only for leading current fundraising efforts, but for building and scaling a development engine capable of sustaining significant organizational growth in alignment with Dare 2 Share’s mission, vision, and 3-5-year strategic initiatives. The VPD is expected to design and execute strategies that result in accelerated, year-over-year revenue growth, expanded donor capacity, and increased financial resilience for the ministry’s global mission.

The VPD serves as both the leader of the Development Team and as a frontline Development Officer responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of high-capacity donors and partners. The VPD will also guide the strategic direction for donor events, legacy giving, and grant initiatives.

Leadership, Management, Accountability (LMA) – 50%

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Development Team, fostering a culture of growth, innovation, accountability, and Gospel-centered excellence.
  • Design and execute multi-year fundraising strategies that enables Dare 2 Share Ministries to scale its impact, reach new donor segments, and significantly expand annual revenue.
  • Establish ambitious revenue goals and accountability systems, tracking progress toward annual and long-term financial targets.
  • Identify and develop new revenue streams, donor pipelines, and strategic funding partnerships aligned with Dare 2 Share’s long-term vision.
  • Serve as the primary strategist and coordinator for all development initiatives, working in close collaboration with the Founder, President, and Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships (EDSP) to align relationship strategy, messaging, and engagement priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing & Communications to ensure message alignment and storytelling integration across campaigns and donor communications.
  • Manage the Development budget with excellence, transparency, and strategic stewardship.
  • Maintain and strengthen Dare 2 Share’s compliance with ECFA 7 Standards of Responsible Stewardship, as well as third-party evaluators such as Charity Navigator, Candid/GuideStar, and similar organizations through exceptional compliance, transparency, and reporting practices

Development Activity – 50%

  • Personally manage a portfolio of major donors; cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships that lead to transformational gifts.
  • Model and promote best practices in donor engagement and ethical fundraising consistent with biblical principles.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of donor cultivation and fundraising events, including the President’s Gathering and regional donor experiences.
  • Oversee donor database accuracy, reporting, and moves management processes within Salesforce.
  • Ensure all donor-facing communications and proposals are clear, compelling, and mission-aligned.
  • Develop and maintain accurate monthly donation revenue forecasts, providing timely updates to the President and Finance Team to inform cash flow projections and strategic decision-making for the fiscal year.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Leader of leaders with strong strategic and relational acumen.
  • Proven ability to lead major donor and foundation fundraising initiatives with increased, measurable success.
  • Strong understanding of donor cultivation cycles, moves management, and data-driven fundraising strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal—with high emotional intelligence.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to partner cross-divisionally (Marketing, Operations, Ministry Advancement).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with focus and discipline.
  • High ethical standards, confidentiality, and integrity in all donor and financial matters.
  • 7+ years of relevant leadership experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit advancement.

  • Achieve and exceed annual fundraising goals (revenue and donor retention) focusing on year-over-year growth and expansion.
