Lighthouse is the English-speaking congregation (EM) of New Community Mission Church. We are a Southern Baptist Korean-American church established in 2001 and located in San Mateo, CA. Our congregation consists of youth students, college students, young adults, and families. The church follows the House Church model (https://housechurch.global/) and is looking for a pastor to lead the English ministry who can whole-heartedly follow this model and is willing to learn this model of ministry.

Qualifications

Currently attending or graduated from an accredited theological institution with at least a Master of Divinity.
Have experience in full-time pastoral ministry.
Be above reproach and display Christ-like character (Titus 1:6-9; 1 Tim. 3:2-7).
Must abide by the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 (https://bfm.sbc.net/bfm2000).
Have strong organizational and administrative skills as well as interpersonal skills
Must be fluent in English (fluency in Korean will be a plus).
Must be legally qualified to work in the United States.

Duties & Responsibilities

Preach and teach the Word of God weekly
Oversee the overall ministry and provide guidance and training to the leaders
Preside over worship services and other events
Shepherd, disciple and provide pastoral care for the congregation
Be willing to know and implement the house church model
Attend weekly staff meetings and other regular church meetings
Minister to the youth group and communicate with their families
Plan events throughout the year (retreat, youth retreat, picnics, outings, etc.)
Other administrative tasks

To have a consistent prayer and devotional life
To participate and have fellowship with the Korean-speaking congregation leaders and members
To be open, and have honest and clear communication with pastoral staff and members

Compensation + Benefit: $70,000 ~ 90,000 (this amount includes a healthcare subsidy)

2 full weeks of vacation (preferably upon completion of one full year of ministry)
