Part-time Worship Leader Needed!

Barn Church is a house church (… or should we say barn church) meeting in Castle Rock, CO.

We believe in equipping every believer to use their gifts and talents to build up and serve the church; and are therefore committed to serving one another as the body of Christ. Each congregate has put forth efforts in creating the church community we have today, and each have stepped into roles based on giftings and their willingness to serve.

In the area of worship, we use audio recordings of both traditional and new worship songs, as we do not have anyone in our church body who can serve in this capacity. In the coming month, we are looking to enhance our worship environment by welcoming a worship leader as our first official staff member! We are seeking someone who can plan, lead, and set a tone of reverence and adoration each week for the important act of worshipping our God.

Location: 122 W. Surrey Drive Castle Rock, CO 80108 (I-25 & Ridgegate)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and lead weekly worship.

• Select and arrange worship songs.

• We open service at 9:45 with 3 songs and close service with 2 songs
• Service begins at 9:45 and ends at 11:15
• Arrive at 9:15 on Sunday mornings to set-up.
• 2-hour commitment is required on Sundays
• Be available and present on MOST Sundays
• Connect with Pastor by Wednesday each week to confirm song choices for the upcoming service.
  • We give thought to selecting songs that align with the sermon’s message. Arrange songs for an impactful time of worship.
  • Screen lyrics will be created for you based on selection.

 

• Practice songs as needed in preparation for Sunday services.

• Ability to sing and play an instrument as a one (wo)man band – acoustic or in combination with an audio recording.
• Facilitate congregational singing and participation.
• Maintain and manage musical equipment and supplies – we will provide AV equipment, but you must have your own instrument.
• Develop and implement worship plans for special services and events.
• Lead worship in a way that aligns with the church’s vision and theology.
• Collaborate with the pastor and congregation for growth within our music and worship ministry as needed (i.e. adding another member to the team, working on new songs, prayer ministry, etc.).

 

REQUIREMENTS

As this is not a leadership role, you do not need previous experience as a worship leader. However, previous experience playing in a worship band is preferred.

• Theologically aligned.
• Professed Christian faith and active involvement in a local church body.
• Showing spiritual maturity that is evident by the fruit in your life.
• A passion for worship and a desire to usher others into worship with God.
• Proficiency in playing a musical instrument, such as guitar or piano.
• Strong vocal abilities.
• Knowledge of a wide range of worship songs.
• Ability to read music and learn to play new songs.
• Ability to create a welcoming, excited yet peaceful, worship environment.
• Experience with sound and multimedia equipment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills as this is largely independent throughout the week.
• Commitment to ongoing personal, professional, and spiritual development. Be in a constant state of cultivating your relationship with God through prayer, bible study, and spiritual disciplines.
• Dependable, reliable, communicative, timely

Note: You do not need to attend our church, but we do hope you feel part of the church family!

 

This is a 1099 position, paid $100 per Sunday.

Paid bi-weekly by check.
