Position: TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) Coordinator
We are looking for an individual who is ready to make a difference in patient care, utilizing a breakthrough medical device for the treatment of depression, anxiety and PTSD. We are seeking graduate students looking to gain therapeutic and clinical experience working with patients and therapists. Experience as a Health Care Clinical Professional in the medical field, this is ideal, otherwise, experience working with medical devices would be a plus, but not necessary. This individual will need to be able to respond effectively in an urgent situation for patient care, possess strong listening and communication skills, be attentive to detail, and have the willingness to learn the use of a new technology.
This position will offer the opportunity to help patients, using a breakthrough treatment modality for depression called “TMS,” (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) which FDA approved and covered by most insurance providers. We are seeking the right candidate, whom we will train to administer in-office therapeutic treatments under the direction of our treating physicians and Clinical Director. This individual’s primary responsibility will be to administer and manage the specific clinical services, interact regularly with patients, and complete additional office administrative tasks when time is provided. We will fully train the successful candidate.
Minimum Qualifications:
• MUST LIVE IN (Centennial/South Denver/metro area) or other close geographic area for responding to the office if needed.
• First year graduate student or related experience for at least a one-year commitment.
Experience:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and simple software applications.
• Experience addressing patient’s medical conditions or symptoms, including basic life support certification (BLS certification), will train.
• Looking for student with degree programs in the mental health field, graduate student or a senior planning to enter a program after graduation with bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with operating a medical/mechanical devices would be a plus.
Job Requirements:
• Monitor a patient for any physical symptoms during a 30-minute treatment session.
• Provide medical intervention in an emergency (Has never happened since opening the practice in March 2019).
• Strong communication skills.
• Explain and administer procedures to patients.
• Contribute to a positive work environment.
• Act courteously and with tact in dealing with patients, visitors and the public.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Follow established treatment and office procedures for TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) and Dynamical Neurofeedback protocols.
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy regarding all details of treatment requirements and records management.
• Physically able to walk, stand, stoop, and bend around the patient position maneuvering the equipment during the 30-minute session.
• Physical, visual and auditory dexterity to manipulate and monitor equipment during the treatment session.
• Show up on time, in business casual attire and keep designated shifts. Flexibility with scheduling is important due to the random patient load. Once treatments start, patients will generally have the same daily appointment time for seven weeks. Although, we try and schedule patients close together, there can be up to a two-hour gap between patients.
Additional Position Details:
• W2 hourly employee position.
• Variable, part time hours between 5-20 hours weekly, depending on patient case load.
• Can work patient schedules to coincide with class schedules.
• 3-5 days of paid training.
• Would like a 12-month commitment due to equipment training and certification requirements.
• Pay Rate will be $20.00 an hour through the training and supervised patient sessions. Once an employee can operate in the office independently, the pay rate will increase to $25.00 an hour.
• Employees will operate in an office suite with three other mental health practitioners, who are licensed in LMFT, EMDR, play therapy and looking to expand into other nontraditional therapies.
• Great opportunity for a student to learn private practice and gain exposure to patients suffering from Major Depressive and Anxiety Disorders while working with clients, therapists and two independent supervising psychiatrists.
