The Position:

The Vice President of Mission Investment is responsible for leading the people and strategic direction of the Mission Investment Division (Development and Marketing functions) of YFC USA and will ensure achievement of YFC USA’s ongoing donation goals, campaign strategies,

and supportive marketing operations. The position will lead as a member of the VP Team reporting direction to the President/CEO, with certain routine administrative functions overseen by the Chief Operating Officer.

The successful candidate will be a visionary, strategic, and highly relational leader who is an experienced non-profit major gifts fundraiser and marketing executive, and who is capable of scaling year-over-year revenue goals to support YFC USA’s strategic objectives. The Vice President of Mission Investment must be deeply motivated by YFC’s mission to reach young people for Christ.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and empower the Mission Investment Division towards significant and sustainable growth through effectively casting vision and implementing strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a unified donor experience with clear segmentation, conversion metrics, attrition definition, and delineation of personnel and vendor responsibilities.
  • Effectively engage YFC partners through annual giving, major giving, legacy giving, and campaign strategies. Maintain a personal portfolio of relationships with major givers, continually identify new relationships to grow the donor base, and maintain relationships with current givers to invite ongoing support.
  • Effectively develop and execute a donor events strategy, in coordination with the Events Department at YFC.
  • Work in partnership with the Office of the President (as a major gifts officer) and the YFC Foundation, to reach ongoing revenue goals. The VP is primarily responsible for current giving. The YFC Foundation comes alongside the department to support Planned Giving and Estate giving conversations. The VP will create a culture that celebrates joint wins between YFC USA and YFC Foundation towards our capital campaign efforts.
  • Work with our Capital Campaign Consultant to design, hold team accountable, and bring successful completion of the campaign alongside the Office of the President and the YFC Foundation.
  • Responsible for annual planning process, revenue forecasting, setting priorities, and demonstrating focus and restraint to ensure that highest priorities are achieved.
  • Oversee the team that produces, staffs, and executes the annual marketing calendar to current and prospective giving partners, and identify and maintaining required vendor relationships, including creative contractors who fulfill direct mail, email, social media, video, and website communication with donors.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team to develop and communicate the vision, mission, and strategic goals to YFC’s giving partners.
  • Travel approx. 60-80 travel days per year, primarily to meet with major giving partners across the nation, as well as to participate in key YFC events.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a vital personal relationship with Jesus Christ and seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
  • Must be able to participate in and lead regular times of prayer, devotion, and worship, and teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps, and events.
  • Bachelor’s + Advanced degree preferred
  • A proven track record in fundraising results, with experience annually managing a $10m+ giving portfolio, as well as proven success leading portfolio growth.
  • 10+ years experience in fund development, sales management, or donor relations, ideally in an in-house leadership role within a complex nonprofit entity.
  • Expertise in Kingdom fundraising philosophies and principles, as well as the ability to minister to giving partner’s personal needs and to help disciple their walk with Christ, especially as it relates to generosity in God’s Kingdom. Certifications in Kingdom-oriented fund development preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience recruiting and developing best-in-class professional talent, as well as skillfully leading remote teams.
  • Ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment in a changing environment with ability to anticipate future needs.
  • Seeks authentic Christ-centered relationships with people of various backgrounds, fosters an inviting environment, and empowers historically marginalized groups and indigenous populations (within the local context) through active listening, inclusion, advocacy for those who are vulnerable and respect of others’ experiences.
