Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Church Administrator to support the ministry of our church. This person will play a vital role in the business affairs of the church, including overseeing office operations, church communications, facilities management, and maintaining church records. A key responsibility of this role is to provide leadership and direction for volunteers, ensuring that the church’s ministries functions run smoothly and efficiently. Prior experience with a church or other non-profit is helpful. This is a fulltime position reporting to the lead pastor. Compensation includes an hourly rate of $25.00 plus benefits

Skills and Qualifications

1. Aligns with the beliefs and values of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

2. Three to five years of prior office administration and management experience required.

3. Ability to provide supportive direction to volunteers while maintaining a healthy and creative working environment.

4. Proven organizational, time management and planning skills.

5. Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 software and applications.

6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.

7. Proven record-keeping skills.

8. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

9. Self-motivated and able to function with minimal supervision.

10. Previous experience working in a church or non-profit environment helpful but not required

Duties and Responsibilities

A. Church office operations & facilities management

1. Manages all general church office functions.

2. Develops, prepares, and maintains reports and documents as needed.

3. Maintains inventory of campus supplies.

4. Organizes and attends weekly staff meetings.

5. Maintains the online calendar and event requests.

6. Manages the contracts of the church, maintenance and facilities.

7. Responsible for the church key registry and works in conjunction with the Lead Pastor for campus access and security.

8. Schedules maintenance and repairs for the building and grounds in coordination with the Property Team

9. Obtain bids, select, and oversees any work required by a contractor and approves for payment in coordination with the Property Team & bookkeeper.

B. Coordinate Volunteers

1. Assess the needs of the church and actively recruit and equip volunteers to fill those roles

2. Coordinate special services and church events.

3. Support the volunteers to ensure they have a rewarding and positive experience.

C. Responsible for church communications

1. Preparation and publishing of church communications.

2. Maintains and oversees the CLC website and social media.

3. Maintains appropriate confidentiality in support of pastoral care.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
