Job Summary
The Worship Pastor/Director is responsible for leading and developing the worship ministry, including all aspects of worship, sound, and technology. This role is pivotal in creating an engaging and spiritually enriching worship experience for the congregation. The Worship Pastor/Director will oversee the worship team, manage sound and technology needs, and collaborate with other ministry leaders to ensure a cohesive and impactful worship environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Worship Leadership
Plan, organize, and lead worship services that are inspiring, engaging, and aligned with the church’s mission and vision.
Select appropriate music and other elements for worship services, ensuring a balance of contemporary and traditional styles.
Lead rehearsals and provide direction to the worship team, including musicians, vocalists, and other participants.
2) Team Development
Recruit, train, and mentor members of the worship team, fostering a culture of excellence, unity, and spiritual growth.
Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and abilities.
Conduct regular evaluations and provide feedback to team members to ensure continuous improvement.
3) Sound and Technology Management
Oversee all aspects of sound and technology for worship services, including sound systems, lighting, projection, and live streaming.
Ensure that all technical equipment is maintained and functioning properly, coordinating repairs and upgrades as needed.
Train and supervise volunteers and staff who assist with sound, lighting, and technology.
4) Service Planning and Coordination
Collaborate with the pastoral staff and other ministry leaders to plan and coordinate worship services and special events (Vacation Bible School, Weddings, Funerals, etc.).
Develop and implement worship service plans, including order of service, song selection, and multimedia elements.
Ensure smooth execution of worship services by coordinating with all involved parties, including the tech team, ushers, and hospitality staff.
5) Creative Arts Integration
Integrate creative arts into worship services, including visual arts, drama, and multimedia presentations.
Explore new and innovative ways to enhance the worship experience through creative arts and technology.
Encourage and support the involvement of congregational members with artistic talents.
6) Technology Management
Oversee the church’s technology infrastructure, including computer systems, network management, and software applications.
Ensure the church’s technology is up-to-date and functioning properly, coordinating repairs and upgrades as needed.
Coordinating the training of staff and volunteers on the use of church technology, ensuring everyone is proficient and comfortable with the systems in place.
7) Pastoral Care and Spiritual Leadership
Provide pastoral care and support to members of the worship team, fostering their spiritual growth and well-being.
Lead and participate in prayer and devotional times with the worship team and congregation.
Serve as a spiritual leader and role model within the church community.
8) Administrative Duties
Develop and manage the worship ministry budget, ensuring effective use of resources.
Maintain accurate records of worship team schedules, song lists, and other relevant information.
Attend staff meetings and contribute to the overall planning and vision of the church.
Work closely with church administrator for communications and social media
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Worship Arts, Theology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading worship in a church setting.
Skills
Strong musical abilities and proficiency in playing one or more instruments.
Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
Proficiency with sound and multimedia equipment, including live sound mixing, lighting, and projection.
Experience with worship planning software and multimedia presentation tools (e.g., Planning Center, ProPresenter).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Working Conditions
This position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, to attend church services, rehearsals, and events.

Candidates must be in full agreement with the Assemblies of God Statement of Fundamental Truths.
Applicants should have a clear understanding of and commitment to Pentecostal theology, including the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
