At Berkley Chapel, we are regular people focused on learning the Bible without all the hype and clutter so that people find the wholeness they are searching for. We teach through the Bible verse-by-verse to help people understand God’s truth and apply it to their lives. About the Worship and Graphic Arts Pastor:

Berkley Chapel is seeking a Worship Pastor to lead and oversee the development our worship ministry. The Worship Pastor is primarily responsible for the leadership of the worship experience for Sundays and special services. The position also includes the supervision and management of staff in the areas of worship, sound, lighting, and video. In addition, this position will oversee staff members and vendors related to social media, marketing, and communications. We seek a strong leader who will help shepherd the flock under their care.

The Worship and Graphic Arts Pastor’s Responsibilities Include: 

Primary Responsibilities

• Worship/Media Team Leadership

  • Plan worship sets for all services and lead worship with the team

  • Compose and format tracks for worship

  • Train and assimilate new band members and vocalists

  • Coordinate practice and rehearsal schedules as necessary

  • Oversee coordinate the training and recruitment of the vocal team

  • Oversee and help develop the worship ministry in the youth and children’s programs

  • Coordinate payroll for paid musicians and tech staff monthly

  • Serve as the contact person for the media team (sound, lighting, video)

• Social Media/Marketing/Communications Oversight

  • Supervise staff and venders who execute social media, marketing, and communications

  • Consult with the team and develop strategies

• Provide vision, strategy, & development for all worship and tech ministries

• Provide leadership, direction and training for all worship and teach staff and volunteers.

• Recruit and oversee all ministry volunteers providing leadership, training, and appreciation.

• Meet regularly with the Lead Pastor and/or executive team to discuss ministry strategy and effectiveness.

What You Bring: 

The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Worship and Graphic Arts:

Education & Experience

• Associate degree at an accredited college or university, preferred

• Experience in recruiting, motivating, equipping and scheduling volunteer leaders to minister in the worship and tech ministries

• Experience working in a church with 500+ attendees

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Effective communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)

• Ability to demonstrate relational intelligence with interpersonal interactions with the team and with church members and attendees

• Competency with basic computer software: Mac-based hardware, Ableton, Playback, Planning Center, ProPresenter, etc.

• Active and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by actions, attitude and behavior

• Passion for worship ministry and to see families grow in their faith together
