THE MINISTRY ADVANCEMENT DIVISION’S PURPOSE

To recruit, equip, and mobilize Gospel Advancing leaders around the world, leveraging Dare 2 Share programs and resources in order accelerate the global Gospel Advancing movement.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Ministry Advancement (VPMA) oversees the team responsible for recruiting, equipping, and mobilizing Gospel Advancing Leaders globally. This team works together to develop and execute scalable events and empowering content as well as mobilizing multipliers through networks. All programs, resources and strategies support Dare 2 Share’s mission of “Energizing the Church to Mobilize youth to Gospelize their world.” Every strategy and activity pursues the ministry’s vision to see every teen everywhere hear the Gospel from a friend.

 

The VPMA serves as a part of Dare 2 Share’s Executive Team, contributing significantly to overall strategy because of the unique customer perspective of the Ministry Advancement division. The VPMA is also responsible maintaining theological and philosophical integrity while aggressively seeking results.

 

To be successful in this position, the VPMA must have a strong leadership acumen and possess a broad skillset for developing scalable strategies for ministry. Extensive leadership and youth ministry experience is a must.

 

 

 

Additionally, the division engages in several channel strategies including certification and licensing (certified trainer program, international partners, etc.) in order to obtain the ultimate outcome and measurement of success of 1,000,000 Gospel Advancing leaders worldwide by the year 2031.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

Leadership, Management, and Accountability (80%)

The VP of Ministry Advancement is responsible to lead the MA division. This includes all departments associated with building and serving the scalable model of the Gospel Advancing movement. The departments within this division are responsible for leading our 3 strategic priorities: design scalable events, develop empowering content, and deploy influential multipliers. These departments are also accountable for program area activity (D2S sponsored event attendance, outside event reach and impact, training programs, resource distribution, etc.). As a Vice President, the role is responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of strategic direction and plans, ensuring that key performance indicators for each department are met. The VPMA is a key contributor to the Executive Team of the ministry and represents this area to the board as well.

 

As a senior executive, the VPMA works diligently to not only provide results but also to develop leaders of leaders, both internally and externally.

 

 

The VPMA is also accountable for key program area activity indicators for the ministry (D2S sponsored event attendance, outside event reach and impact, training programs, resource distribution, etc.) as well as all program revenue. The VPMA ensures that these program activities support the ultimate goal of Gospel Advancing Ministry multiplication and works to lead and train the internal as well as external constituents to prioritize this objective.

 

 

Execution (20%)

This role demands a hands-on senior leader who is well versed in the requirements of each role within the division in order to not only anticipate and mitigate roadblocks, but to also identify potential areas of opportunity. A strong understanding of the internal and external landscape and how it relates to accomplishing the ministry’s overall objectives, allows the VPMA to synergistically adjust strategies and tactics in order to accelerate success.

 

Creative and relevant training content are critical for the division to accomplish this goal and call to action messaging must be tightly controlled in order to see exceptional results. The VPMA will work closely with the Executive Team to craft consistent and comprehensive content and messaging.

 

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in ministry, preferably in youth ministry and in leadership
  • 5+ years of experience in Marketing, Sales, business/ministry development or similar
  • University degree, MBA preferred
  • Understanding of contextualization and a high CQ (cultural intelligence)
  • Experience (preferably hands-on) in cross-cultural ministry
  • Personal familiarity with Dare 2 Share Ministries’ products, services, and events and the Gospel Advancing ministry philosophy
  • Passionate, energetic and value-oriented leader of leaders
  • Strong strategic planning ability in addition to analytical, forecasting and budgeting skills
  • The ability to articulate vision and strategies that inspire and motivate and focuses energy on achieving ministry and business goals
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills and presentation experience
  • Proven team leader with the ability to create, structure, manage and implement high performing teams
  • Capable of managing multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes
  • Proficient with Microsoft business software, CRM.
