GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB FUNCTION:

The Program Administrator will provide administrative support for the Compelling Preaching Initiative. The Administrator will assist the CPI Program Director with communication, recordkeeping, event planning, and overall organization. This position will be a part-time employee with fringe benefits.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Assisst Program Director in communication with group leaders, workshop & webinar participants, Denver Seminary, and the Lilly Endowment.
  • Collaborates with Program Director to conceive and execute various online and onsite events.
  • Keeps contractual and financial records for the CPI.
  • Assists Program Director with video production for peer learning group content.
  • Crafts and distributes various communication pieces for students, alumni, donors, area churches, social media, and CPI participants.
  • Collaborates and cooperates with other Denver Seminary staff as needed for positive program outcomes.
  • Performs ongoing and final evaluations of effectiveness of the program, in collaboration with the Program Director.
  • Prepares the CPI for transition to post-grant existence in the final year of the program, in collaboration with the Program Director.

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Strong administrative and project management skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in a multi-staff organization.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and Zoom.

PREFERRED

  • Staff experience in a church or academic setting.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited seminary.
  • Experience working with various ministry constituencies and ethnicities.
  • Experience with event planning, video production.

  • Elevate the effectiveness and importance of preaching in the churches of Denver and the Colorado Front Range, in the hallways of Denver Seminary and its campuses, and across the nation wherever preaching peer groups may gather.
  • Expand and share the body of preaching knowledge widely.
  • Engage ethnically and culturally diverse preachers in dialogue with one other for mutual learning and equipping.
  • Educate students, pastors, and lay leaders on the value of receiving constructive, actionable feedback on their preaching.
  • Encourage active and aspiring preachers in their ministries of preaching.

 

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Normal office working conditions including computer usage may require occasional standing, walking, long periods of sitting, climbing stairs, balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
