Director of Women’s Ministries
Applewood Baptist Church is seeking a highly organized, proactive and dedicated leader who is passionate about shepherding and building teams to meet the spiritual needs of the women of our church. Working in partnership with our pastor team, the Women’s Ministry Director will facilitate the equipping of women to accomplish our mission of reaching, raising and reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight for Women’s Ministry teams for all ages of women to include: Bible study team, Discipleship team, Retreat team, Ladies tea team and other Women’s Ministry activity teams
- Conduct meetings, training sessions and other leadership development activities for Women’s Ministry team leaders and ministry apprentices
- Facilitate the provision of Spiritual development programming for the women of Applewood Baptist Church, to include embracing and advocating for Community Group participation and membership
- Encourage Spiritual growth, fellowship, unity, and service, and facilitate the gathering of women, providing opportunities for women to become involved in the work of the body of Christ at Applewood Baptist Church
- Provide ministerial care, shepherding and guidance to women as needs may arise, to include hospital visits, emotional support and encouragement
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of faith-based curriculum and resources for women’s bible studies, programs and events
- Knowledge and proficiency in the use of general computer software programs and applications
- Knowledge of basic leadership and management principles and practices
- Proactive in approach to tasks and workload – takes the initiative to get things done without prompting
- Ability to effectively and concisely communicate, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to simultaneously, plan, organize, manage and lead multiple programs, events and activities
- Ability to build teams and through delegation, empower women to grow in capacity as team leaders
Education and Experience:
This position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a staff member or significant volunteer in a ministry leadership position in an evangelical church or parachurch organization. A Bachelor’s Degree in biblical studies, social work, theology, religious studies or other relevant course of study is required, except that in limited situations, extensive and verified ministry experience may be substituted for a college degree.
