ROLE TITLE: Communication Assistant

OVERVIEW: The Communication Assistant plays a vital role in executing church communications, ensuring effective communication across various media channels including email, digital, social media, and print. This position is integral to complementing the church’s vision, goals, and culture through communication efforts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support church-wide communication strategies, encompassing branding, logo design, website management, signage, weekly announcement formats, sermon series, initiatives, campaigns, and events across print and digital media.
  • Assist in creating and coordinating content for communication channels including web, app, and social media.
  • Aid in the execution and creation of regular deliverables such as email blasts and blogs.
  • Maintain standardized communication language, grammar style, and format.
  • Adhere to established protocols for systems.
  • Assist in creating and developing special projects as assigned by leadership.
  • Support in cultivating and leading a team of volunteers.
  • Track analytics of various digital media platforms.
  • Assist in coordinating and creating graphic/visual materials.

  • Grounded Christian life reflecting solid commitment to Jesus Christ.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred) or currently studying a related field.
  • Strong administration skill set and natural aptitude for project management.
  • Quick learner of new software and platforms (Adobe Suite, Canva, Google, etc.).
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a focus on clear communication, brand presence, and consistency.

RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports directly to the Connection Director and is part of the Connections Team.
  • Collaborates with the entire Crossroads staff to fulfill the mission and vision.

TIME COMMITMENT: 20-25 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday, with a flexible schedule. On-call availability for technical issues during services. Must be available for weekday meetings in person, activities, and trainings.
