Academic Internships Coordinator
General Statement of Job Function:
The Academic Internships Coordinator will provide administrative support for the Office of Academic Affairs with a focus on Chaplaincy, Pastoral Care, and Clinical Internships.
Essential Functions:
- Supports current students for advisement regarding academic internships.
- Monitors and responds to all outside inquiries regarding academic internships.
- Supports the scheduling and on-boarding of all new Chaplain or Pastoral Care internship students by setting up interviews, confirming placements, and communicating needed instructions.
- Communicates with the appropriate Directors to Track and manage internship documents such as Site Placement Agreements, background checks, insurance, and other required material.
- Maintains all internship files in alignment with any program requirements and other organizations, including final evaluations and signed paperwork, for students and supervisors.
- Helps support Denver Seminary’s Ministry Site Mentors and maintain the necessary documentation required from them.
- Assists in the preparation of accreditation materials required by the institution’s accrediting bodies.
- Responds to additional administrative needs for the maintenance of academic internships and/or the Office of Academic Affairs as directed
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience working with chaplaincy, provision of spiritual care, military organizations, any counseling or clinical settings, and/or higher education, is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and accurately to individuals and groups in both written and oral communications.
- A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exemplary organizational skills.
- Excellent collegiality and collaborative skills.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office working conditions including computer usage may require occasional standing, walking, long periods of sitting, climbing stairs, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
